Artist Call Out for Community Arts Research Project with LGBT+ Sunderland

LGBT+ Sunderland, in partnership with The Cultural Spring, is seeking an artist or creative to collaborate on a community arts research project exploring how to strengthen relationships between LGBT+ youth and their wider community. This is a chance to work with a vibrant peer support group of 11–25-year-olds in a safe, welcoming space centred on creativity, expression, and connection. The group welcomes proposals across a range of artforms – from drag and digital art to creative writing and performance. A fee of up to £1,000 is available for the consultation phase, with potential for future project development. We particularly welcome artists who are part of or allied with the LGBT+ community and have experience working with neurodivergent young people.

Artist Call Out for Community Arts Research Project with Headway Wearside

Headway Wearside and The Cultural Spring are inviting expressions of interest for a new community arts research commission exploring how creativity can flourish after brain injury. This consultation phase (Oct–Dec 2025) will shape a co-created project led by and with brain injury survivors.

We're looking for artists who:

  • Have experience working with adults living with brain injury or SEND

  • Are confident adapting their practice to support a range of access needs

  • Want to collaborate, co-create and empower others

  • Can support the group to explore creativity and memory through visual or performing arts (excluding music)

Creative Call Out for Community Cohesion Storytelling Project with Sunderland Communities

Sunderland’s Community Cohesion Steering Group, in partnership with The Cultural Spring, is seeking a creative/s or organisation to collaborate on a commission exploring storytelling as a means to both celebrate and challenge communities. This exciting opportunity involves engaging with a diverse range of individuals from across Sunderland, focusing on building stronger communities through creativity, expression and connection.

This project aims to strengthen communities affected by the public disorder in Summer 2024.

Project Budget: £15,000
