Active Families North East
Active Families provide inclusive, fun and accessible opportunities for people of all ages to move, connect and thrive. Currently using Broadway Community Centre, their mission is to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and build stronger connections within the community. Active Families provide a space that facilitates a wide range of activities and services that support the community. A new venue is coming soon to further reach and provide support to more people in the community.
What’s been happening:
Active families have been focusing on providing more sustainable creative activities within their venues, they’ve offered many creative workshops partnering with 7 artists to provide a wide range of activities. Some of these workshops have included floristry, fused glass and ceramics allowing participants to try a wide range of creative skills. Workshops also including singing and dancing are held with artists Naomi Tomlinson, Mark Deeks and Digifin Films. They're a space that allows the community to come together and develop art into their everyday lives.
